You & Me

It is with great pleasure that I introduce this weeks interview on two amazing, incredibly fashionable and drop dead gorgeous girls, Paris Lucas and Abby Rose. Business partners, friends and fashionistas, these two girls are known for turning heads, with their killer outfits. Both girls are very invested in the fashion industry, with Abby working for a very high end company called Janine Edwards imports, where she is a brand specialist and Paris previously working for Zimmermann. The girls own a online lifestyle store called You & Me Boutique which they launched in March, 2012. The funky website stocks colourful and unique home decor, including cushions, skull heads, candles and hammocks. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourselves and where you both live?
A. Abby is currently living in Sydney and working in Fashion as a Brand Advisor for J BRAND. You & Me Boutique is a hobby that I spend time on everyday. It keeps me busier than I need to be but most importantly lets my creativity become a little bit of reality which I share with my BFF.P. I live on the southern end of the Gold Coast with my husband and 3 year old son.

2. What are your greatest passions?
A. In  no specific order : Career. Developing You & me Boutique into a world wide sucess (obviously). holidays. family, friends & the BF… and WORLD PEACE. (haha)
P. My familys happiness, holidaying and food!

3. How did you first get interested in fashion and why is it important?
A. When we were at our socialising peak, our week days were spent trawling blogs and online stores (generally at work, emailing each other) planning what we would wear on the weekend and lusting over the life of a model.
P. I was interested in fashion probably in primary school. I remember planning for weeks what i would wear to uniform free days haha!
Fashion is not as important to me these days as it was in the past. I think fashion is a wonderful creative outlet for people to express themselves in the way they dress and style themselves.

4. Describe your personal style?
A. Feminine,Sleek, and a little edgy…. Wait, Is colourful counted as a style!?
P. These days my style is simplicity. Nothing makes me feel better then a crisp white t-shirt, denim cut offs and bare feet. My style is also a lot more boho in the past few years I love floaty florals and effotless pieces.

5. who is your style icon and why?
A. A mixture of Olivia Palermo and (my ultimate) - Miroslava Duma. I would give up my right arm within seconds for her wardrobe.P. Ive always loves the olsen twins since I was super young. T shirts, jeans & dark sunglasses - Perfect. I also like the style of miranda kerr, Olivia Palermo & Kate Bosworth.

6. Favorite designers and places to shop?
A. J BRAND & EQUIPMENT. Come As you Are Boutique Sydney, and Net-a-Porter for all my wish lists
P. Zimmermann is my all time fave designer heir florals are so dreamy. I shop alot on bonds online (scoop neck t-shirt in every colour haha) I also love free people online.

7. What do you splurge on?
A. I have a handbag and sunglass problem. No joke.
P. My most expesnive purchase is probably my Alexander Wang handbag. Ive had it for years now and its still stunning and worth every penny.

8. What is your next "must have" purchase?
A. I just purchased some silver metallic Saint Laurent sneakers ….. I've been eyeing them off for months.
P. Im on the hunt for the perfect black suede ankle boots for winter.

9. What can't you live without?
A. Lanolin for my lips. I physically can't sleep without putting it on. no word of a lie… Oh and of course, my mummy!
P. Bikinis and denim shorts

10. Next place you want to travel to:
A. Hawaii. I've never been! But I have just booked to go to Bali in May. It's by far my most favourite destination (without flying for 24hrs)
P. Heading to Bali again this May and hoping to be living there this time next year. Bali has our hearts.

11. You girls own You and Me Boutique how did you get started with that?
A. It started from wanting to decorate our homes, but not being able to find and buy online within Australia cool eclectic home wares. So we thought, let's manufacture our own products…
P. We started You & Me Boutique when we both had moved into our own homes and desperately craved some unique home decor pieces. We found nothing to our taste so created our own! Our store reflets our personal taste and our homes are filled with our treasures.

12. Did you always want to have an online store?
A. Not specifically, however GEN Y is so internet savvy that I guess it's our way of opening a shop front. Online is the way of the future.
P. Yes we only ever had an interest in being online and not having a store front. Being online shopping addicts ourselves we knew what we wanted and what we liked when shopping online.

13. What is to come from You and Me Boutique this year?
A. This year has been a big change as I relocated to Sydney, so we have taken it a little slow in terms of launching new collections. 2015 will be exciting. I guarantee it.
P. This year You & Me Boutique has some exciting things in the works, new ranges and stockists. Stay tuned….

14. Best advice you ever received?
A. It's never too late to do something.
P. Not advice that i received but the way i live every day - Live Simply, Love lots, Laugh & remember whats truly important.

15. Do your styles change much?
A. My inspiration of style has always stayed the same, classy, sleek and a little edgy. My wardrobe is now full of my favourite brands and I now tend to not stray from them as much as I did. You don't see me out of J Brands and Equipment Silk shirts… ever.
P. Definitely in the past couple of years my style has changed alot. I went from working in a high end boutique and getting very dressed up for work etc to moving closer to the beach, spend most of my days bare feet and am a much more relaxed person.
